The
Fredericksburg Area Lodging & Hospitality Association is
comprised of active Fredericksburg Area Lodging and Hospitality
owners and managers. The purpose of FAL&HA is to champion
the concerns of the Lodging and Hospitality industry in the
local area. Tourism is a hugely important part of the Fredericksburg
economy. Local lodging businesses contribute approximately $1
million per year to the Fredericksburg Bed Tax fund.
The
City Council allocates up to 5/7 of the Bed Tax to the Fredericksburg
Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) for the purposes of promoting
area tourism. The remaining 2/7 is allocated to various local
groups to fund programs that attract visitors to the area. The
CVB requests this allocation each year from the City Council.
FAL&HA plays a vital role in providing feedback on the industry's
perspective regarding CVB initiatives.
The Fredericksburg Area Lodging and Hospitality Association
believes the involvement of all area lodging and hospitality
businesses is the key to a healthy Fredericksburg tourism industry.
FAL&HA members are intimately involved with attracting visitors
to the Fredericksburg area as well as showing concern with the
quality of the tourist experience offered by Fredericksburg.
FAL&HA is the owner's opportunity to stay informed about
area issues, events, and promotions as well as upcoming or new
state and local legislation that can impact business.
